Ingredients

Latte Ingredients

  • 1 Verismo™ espresso pod (or compatible espresso pod)
  • 2 tbsp salted caramel syrup
  • 6 fl oz cold milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp extra salted caramel sauce (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Place a serving glass in the freezer for a few minutes to chill it while you prepare the drink.
  • Remove the glass and add the salted caramel syrup and the vanilla extract. Swirl the mixture around the bottom of the glass so the syrup coats it evenly.
  • Prepare one shot of espresso using your Verismo™ machine: lift the handle, insert the pod, and press the espresso button. Brew the espresso directly into the syrup-coated glass so the coffee mixes with the caramel as it pours.
  • In a cocktail shaker or jar with a tight lid, combine the cold milk and a handful of ice. Cap and shake vigorously for 8–12 seconds to create a slightly frothy texture.
  • Fill a second glass with fresh ice. Strain the shaken milk over the espresso in the first chilled glass (pour over the ice in the second glass if you prefer a super-cold drink), then gently stir once to combine.
  • Finish with an optional drizzle of extra salted caramel sauce across the top. If you like, add a very small pinch of flaky sea salt to enhance the salted notes.

Notes

Tip: For a lighter latte, swap whole milk for unsweetened oat or 2% milk; you may want to reduce the caramel by 1/2 tbsp. Make the espresso and syrup base ahead and refrigerate for up to 24 hours for a quick assembly later.
